Trachelipus caucasius is a beautifully large isopod species, reaching over 2cm in length. They have a dark central body, framed by a red-pink skirt.
This species is from Georgia (the country, not the state), and is simultaneously used to a somewhat drier climate, while also having a constant source of moisture and plant matter available. Like other trachelipus, we recommend high airflow, 25% moist side, and lots of decaying hardwood available. While caucasius is a docile species, they do best with a large enclosure due to the sheer size of the adults. Babies will frequently congregate together under hides and around food and are quite endearing.
