Porcellio echinatus is like someone took scaber, compressed it, and then turned the texture level up to 50.
Echinatus are a wonderfully hardy, well producing isopod native to Northern Africa and the southern Iberian peninsula. Adults are a tad smaller than scaber, growing to a length of about 12mm. They make excellent cleaners, and can tolerate semi-arid all the way up to setups as moist as tropical.
This species breeds very well, and will produce throughout the year.
