Product Details

Egyptian sand roaches are a sexually dimorphic species, the males being winged and the females round and wingless. On discovery, they play dead and hope predators will overlook them.

They are a long lived roach which take some time to reach full sexual maturity, but once reproducing the females live over 2 years. Females drop ootheca all over the enclosure, which are left to hatch on their own several weeks later.

They should be left in an enclosure that is completely dry, and only misted in a small corner every 2-4 weeks. They eat rotten wood, leaves, and thrive when offered a protein source and weekly greens.
