Vulgare is another species of isopod that rolls into a ball. This gene ranges from orange to a deep red and is quite breathtaking. Specimens also retain yellow flecking of wild types that shine through their coloration.
Vulgare do well in temperate and semi-arid environments. They are not recommended for tropical due to issues molting in high humidity. They enjoy eating many soft bodied plants.
