Product Details

Armadillidium badium, also labeled as "Castledaccia" or as "Sicily II", is an unidentified species of Armadillidium collected near Castledaccia, a town near Sicily, Italy. They can grow to a substantial size, rivaling A. gestroi when full grown.

"Castledaccia" isopods express deep, vibrant yellow stripes bordered by dark stripes. This contrast is beautiful and stunning, not unlike bumblebees.

"Castledaccia" produce at a steady rate, producing early in their life and larger broods as they age. Like other Armadillidium, we recommend a moist and a dry side, as well as a hide for them to climb on to assist in molting.
